Expect Traffic Delays on 280 in Newark this Weekend

There will be lane closures along a section of Interstate 280 in Newark for a safety inspection of the Stickel Bridge, the state Department of Transportation announced.

The right lane in both directions will be closed from 11 pm Friday through 5 am Saturday. The lanes will be closed again between 11 pm Saturday and 5 am Sunday.

Traffic will also be stopped completely in both directions for periods of 15 minutes each. The stoppages begin at 11:30 pm and end at 4:30 am both nights.  

The bridge connects Newark and Harrison over the Passaic River.
