NEWARK, NJ — The first Panera Bread bakery-café in Newark will open this week – and it will include a special promotion for 100 customers.

Panera will open its first location in Newark on Monday, Dec. 2. The store is located at 635 Broad Street. It will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday to Saturday, and from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.

The Panera To Go experience at 635 Broad Street will be “optimized for guests on the go,” according to a company news release. It will feature a smaller footprint than traditional bakery-cafes with updated ordering kiosks, a fully digitized menu and a new tracking screen providing more detailed order status.

To celebrate the new location, there will be two special promotions that take place at 6 a.m. on Dec. 2 and Dec. 3. The first 50 guests will receive a year’s worth of free “Your Pick Two” meals,” which allow guests to select any combination of two half size entrees from the Panera Bread menu, including soups, salads, sandwiches and more.

The new location will employ 35 to 40 people, the company said.
