In recognition of Cervical Health Awareness Month, free Pap smear screenings for women aged 21 to 29 are being offered throughout January as part of Rutgers New Jersey Medical School’s “31 Paps in 31 Days” campaign, expanding essential preventative and reproductive health care for women.

In addition to Pap screenings, women also will have access to the free HIV, STI and pregnancy screenings and free PrEP counseling.

“Young adults are busy building their futures, and taking care of your health now sets you up for everything ahead. A Pap screen can catch cervical changes early, often before you feel any symptoms — making prevention and treatment simple and effective,” said Dominga Padilla, professor of Pediatrics and executive medical director of the Division of Adolescent & Young Adult Medicine (DAYAM) at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. “Pairing your Pap with HIV and STD screenings helps you stay informed, protect your partners, and take control of your sexual health. Join the ‘31 Paps in 31 Days Campaign’ and make one small appointment that makes a powerful move for your future.”

This campaign is sponsored by the Department of Pediatrics and the Division of Adolescent & Young Adult Medicine (DAYAM) at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.
