NEWARK, NJ — How much does gasoline cost in Newark? As of Thursday, drivers can fuel up for less than $3 per gallon at several local gas stations, according to an online price tracker.

Gas was selling at $2.74 (cash price) at Gas Diesel on Rt. 21 in Newark. Other local prices include the nearby Fuel 4 ($2.87), Lukoil ($2.89) and Speedway ($2.99).

The average cost of a gallon of gas in New Jersey was $3.03 as of Thursday afternoon. The lowest price was $2.71, which was reported at gas stations in Freehold (Eagle), Fords (Fuel 4) and Ewing (BP).
