Go Holiday Caroling In Historic Newark Neighborhood: 2025 Events

A quartet of professional singers will be spreading some cheer in Newark – and the public is invited to join them.

NEWARK, NJ — Want to do some holiday caroling in Newark? A quartet of professional singers will be spreading some cheer in the historic Forest Hill neighborhood on Sunday, Dec. 21 – and the public is invited to join them.

According to a news release, the caroling will take place from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. A rain/snow date is set for Saturday, Dec. 27.

Here’s what to expect, organizers said:

“This inaugural Explore Newark Tours event celebrates the songs of Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, and the Latin American diaspora while exploring the district’s diversity and holiday-lit atmosphere. Along the route, Explore Newark Tours founder and neighborhood-based guide Tim Hoey will add colorful insights about Forest Hill’s storied homes and legacies. Light snacks, beverages, and a midpoint warming break will be provided during this family-friendly experience.”

“The holidays are a way for people to come together and celebrate the diversity that is among our strengths,” Tim Hoey of Explore Newark Tours said.

“We see this experience as an exciting way to build community while enjoying talented musicians singing songs that lift our spirits,” Hoey said.

The tour is made possible partly through the sponsorship of St. Michael’s Medical Center, Commercial District Services, Mt. Prospect Partnership, and the Forest Hill Community Association. Explore Newark Tours also thanked Grace Church/Newark for its assistance with the event’s music.
