Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray announced today that an Essex County grand jury has indicted Rasheed Bush, 19, of Newark for first- degree murder and two-second degree weapons possession charges in the death of 19-year-old Daniel Rivera of Newark.
At approximately 2:15 a.m. on September 2, 2011, Rivera was shot multiple times while walking along Riverview Court in Newark. He was taken to University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Bush is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges in the indictment June 5 before Judge Peter J. Vazquez, J.S.C. Assistant Prosecutor Thomas McTigue is handling the case.
