Missing Newark Boy, 11, Located Unharmed: Police (UPDATE)
Police asked for the public's help finding a missing 11-year-old boy in Essex County. He has since been found safe.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ -- Newark police are asking for the public's help finding a missing 11-year-old boy, authorities say.
Lushawn Smith Jr., 11, of Newark, was reported missing on Sunday, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.

Smith was last seen Saturday on the 100-block of Jelliff Avenue in Newark. He is known to frequent Nat Turner Park, 220 Irvine Turner Boulevard, as well as 18th Avenue near Central High School, police said.
Smith is African American, 4 feet 10 inches and 95 pounds. He was wearing black and purple Jordan sneakers, police said.

Authorities said anyone with information can contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Anonymous tips can also be made using the Police Division’s website.
