NJIT, Mercer County Community College To Launch Transfer Program For Financial Tech Students
Future crowdfunding, cryptocurrency, market analysis and mobile payment experts can get a boost through a partnership between MCCC and NJIT.
NEWARK, NJ — Future crowdfunding, cryptocurrency, market analysis and mobile payment experts can get a boost through a new partnership between Mercer County Community College (MCCC) and the Newark-based New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).
A recent agreement between the two schools allows MCCC financial technology graduates to transfer directly into NJIT’s FinTech program.
Under the terms of the agreement, students who earn an associate of science in financial technology at MCCC will be able to transfer seamlessly to the bachelor of science degree program in financial technology at NJIT's Martin Tuchman School of Management.

The agreement goes into effect in fall 2025.
According to spokespeople, the new partnership is a natural match: NJIT was the first university in New Jersey to offer a bachelor’s degree in financial technology, and MCCC is the first community college in New Jersey to offer an associate’s degree in financial technology.

“We are incredibly excited to partner with NJIT to offer students a quality, affordable path into the growing field of financial technology,” MCCC vice president for academic affairs Robert Schreyer said.
“In our technology-driven society, demands for professionals specializing in areas such as software development, programming, cybersecurity, and more, continue to provide high-level job opportunities for our students and communities,” Schreyer said.
