NJPAC Gala to Benefit Covenant House

Stage Icons to Perform at 'A Night of Broadway Stars' May 16

Homeless youth striving to turn their lives around will get a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform with Broadway stars at Covenant House New Jersey’s A Night of Broadway Stars: Broadway Rocks for Covenant House gala on Wednesday, May 16 at New Jersey’s Performing Arts Center. Broadway Rocks for Covenant House is presented by Third Point Re.

The evening is hosted by renowned lyricist and composer Neil Berg, and will include a full revue of performances by some of Broadway's greatest talents, including Lawrence Clayton from Les Misérables , Rob Evan from Jekyll and Hyde, Rita Harvey from Phantom of the Opera, Capathia Jenkins from Dreamgirls, and Sophia Ramos and Danny Zolli from Jesus Christ Superstar.

Broadway Rocks for Covenant House begins at 6pm with a cocktail reception, silent auction and raffles. At 7:30, the Broadway stars will take the stage for performances alongside CHNJ’s homeless youth. The show will be followed by a dessert reception with the performers.

The event honoree is Eric J. Andersen, CEO of Aon Risk Solutions of the Americas, a longtime supporter of CHNJ.

Jill Rottmann, Executive Director of CHNJ, said, “"Broadway Rocks for Covenant House is an opportunity for the compassionate people of New Jersey to stand side by side with our kids and let them know we care. Your support of our work on this special evening goes so far in making it possible for us to care for the nearly 2000 homeless young people who will be served by our incredible staff in Newark, Atlantic City, Elizabeth, Montclair, Jersey City, and now Asbury Park and Camden.”
