Sex Assault At Newark Restaurant, Woman Drugged: Prosecutors
The owner/manager of a restaurant in Newark has been accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman at his place of business.
NEWARK, NJ — The owner of a barbeque restaurant in Newark has been accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman at his place of business, authorities announced Friday.
Police arrested Carlos Erazo-Caballero, 36, of Elizabeth, and charged him with first-degree sexual assault, according to a statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Department of Public Safety.
Erazo-Caballero – an owner/manager at Stephanie’s Barbeque IV in Newark – allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted an adult woman at the restaurant in October 2024. Specific details are being withheld to protect the woman’s identity, prosecutors said.
