No Access To Rt. 18 South From New Brunswick Due To Car Crash

As of 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, all lanes of Rt. 18 south were closed at Rt. 1 and River Road due to an accident.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — As of 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, all lanes of Rt. 18 south were closed at Rt. 1 due to an accident.

Also, all lanes of Route 18 south are also closed at River Road. As of 11 a.m. Wednesday, there is no access to Rt. 18 south from any New Brunswick interchanges until further notice due to ongoing cleanup of the accident.

The crash also brought down a pole and telephone/electric wires, so that is what crews are currently repairing.

Rutgers Village is accessible via Route 1 north.

Only vehicles needing access to Paulus Blvd. or Dewey Heights will be permitted to use Rt. 18 south. No vehicle traffic is permitted south of Paulus Blvd.
