Makhelat Hamercaz, The Jewish Choir of New Jersey, will give a free performance at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital at 3 p.m. March 11. The performance is free and open to the public.
Makhelat Hamercaz has been entertaining and educating audiences in Middlesex County for the past nine years. This year’s repertoire, Classics of Jewish Choral Music, highlights the Jewish experience from 13th century Spain to 20th century America. Different styles and composers represented include Salomone Rossi, Leonard Bernstein, Louis Lewandowsky, Max Janowski among others and will be sung in Hebrew, Ladino, Yiddish, and English.
