
The New Brunswick Democratic Organization has announced that candidates for the June 5 primary election have until March 18 to contact the organization.
Democrats interested in running for one of the three available city council seats are asked to send a letter expressing interest in a seat along with their resume to organization Chairman TK Shamy at tkshamy@nbdems.org, or call him at 732-828-7700.
Those interested in applying are asked to contact Shamy by March 18.
The deadline to submit a petition with the city declaring an intent to run for city council is April 2.

The seats of council president Robert Recine, councilman Jimmie Cook and councilwoman Elizabeth Garlatti are up for re-election. Recine and Cook are not running again and Sheehan has announced that she will seek another term.
