The New Brunswick Education Foundation (NBEF) will hold its Sixth Annual Gala Awards Dinner on Friday, June 15, 6:00 p.m., at the Pines Manor in Edison. The Foundation will induct eight members into the New Brunswick High Hall of Distinguished Alumni and award more than $50,000 in scholarships to graduating New Brunswick High School seniors.
Additionally, the NBEF will recognize two organizations that have supported the NBEF since it inception
“We are extremely pleased with the amount of scholarship money we have been able to raise from individuals, groups, alumni classes and corporations that support the efforts of the New Brunswick Public School District and the New Brunswick Education Foundation,” said Russell Marchetta, president of the NBEF.
The NBEF will recognize the contributions made my PNC Bank and the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital to the students in the New Brunswick Public School District.
“We are also very excited to acknowledge the accomplishments of the eight New Brunswick High School alumni who will be inducted into the New Brunswick High School Hall of Distinguish Alumni (HODA). The eight individuals come from various careers and are all outstanding in their accomplishments, and they all started at New Brunswick High School,” Marchetta added.
The eight New Brunswick High School graduates to be inducted into the Hall of Distinguished Alumni are:
John Haley, Class of 1967, chairman and chief executive officer of Towers Watson
Shabett Harper, Class of 1987, accountant, international auditor
Dee Marshall, Class of 1987, coach, speaker, TV Lifestyle Personality
Tap Masango, Class of 1989, radio personality and executive
Robert Pangborn, Class of 1969, Executive Vice President and Provost, Penn State University
William “Spaceman” Patterson, Class of 1972, award winning musician
Frank Pelly, Class of 1951, former businessman, state legislator, director New Jersey Lottery Commission
Nicholas Puleio, Class of 1964, former school business administrator
