Police Department Links Nixle Account with Official City Twitter

The New Brunswick Police Department has linked its Nixle account with the City of New Brunswick, meaning that notifications will now be distributed through the city's official Twitter account.

Nixle is an online alert system that allows municipal police departments to send out advisories to residents, such as traffic advisories and information during emergency situations.

The New Brunswick Police Department's Nixle has not been in regular use, due to problems with the account, police officials have previously said.

The Nixle account will remain active, in addition to sending advisories through the Twitter account.
