CASA Seeks Volunteers for Spring 2013 Training
Court Appointed Special Advocates are trained volunteers who serve as advocates for children in foster care.

Volunteers from Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Middlesex County
devoted 4,319 case hours to finding a permanent home for nearly 90 foster children in 2012. However, there are still hundreds of neglected and abused children that remain in the foster care system in Middlesex County.
To combat this pressing need, CASA for Children is actively recruiting new volunteers for its Spring 2013 training. Classes begin Tuesday, April 9th and will run every Tuesday and Thursday night, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. until
May 9th. Attendance is mandatory for all sessions.
A volunteer application along with the complete training schedule can be found on www.casaofmiddlesexcounty.org. Applications can be mailed to CASA of Middlesex County, 409 Joyce Kilmer Ave., Room 202, New Brunswick, NJ 08901 or faxed to (732) 246-4477. Completed applications may also be submitted by email to plaglagaron@casaofmiddlesexcounty.org.

Interested applicants must be at least 21 years old. The deadline to submit an application for spring training is March 22, 2013.
CASA volunteers help children, removed from their home due to abuse or neglect, acquire needed services and achieve permanency in a safe, loving and nurturing home. Volunteers learn about courtroom procedures by working
alongside judges, attorneys and social workers. A CASA advocate speaks for the child’s best interests and helps to ensure a case is brought to a swift and appropriate conclusion.
Anyone with any questions or expressing interest in advocating for children should contact Kerry Kern, Senior Advocate Supervisor at Kerry@casaofmiddlesexcounty.org or Colette Scozzafava, AmeriCorps Advocate
Supervisor at Colette@casaofmiddlesexcounty.org for more information or call the CASA of Middlesex office at (732) 246-4449.
