Colors and Culture
The New Brunswick Free Public Library celebrated the Indian festival of Holi on Saturday.
The New Brunswick Free Public Library was abuzz with Indian culture and celebration on March 23 during the library's annual Holi celebration.
Holi is an Indian cultural holiday that is known as the festival of colors. Participants watched dance performances, sampled Indian cuisine, and examined traditional Indian garb during a fashion show.
The day culminated in "color play", where participants threw colored powder on each other as is the tradition in India.

The event was hosted by the library in cooperation with Rutgers University Indian Graduate Students Association, Hindi USA, and the South Asian Total Health Initiative.
