Dispose of Hazardous Trash on Sunday
Middlesex County will host a Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day on Sunday, March 17.

Middlesex County residents will have a chance to dispose of paint cans, used motor oil, flammable liquids, pesticides and other dangerous materials during Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day on Sunday, March 17 at Middlesex County College, 2600 Woodbridge Ave., Edison.
Between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday, residents may drop off the following materials, according to the Middlesex County Division of Solid Waste Management:
- Pesticides/herbicides
- Flammable liquids
- Solvents
- Pool chemicals
- Used motor oil and oil filters
- Paints
- Rechargeable and button cell batteries. Alkaline batteries can be thrown away in the normal trash.
- Anti-freeze
- Propane tanks
- Fluorescent light bulbs including compact fluorescent bulbs (no broken bulbs)
Residents wishing to dispose of asbestos must pre-register in advance, and can bring a maximum of 500 pounds.

Tires, electronics and appliances, medications, explosives, medical waste and furniture will not be accepted, according to the county.
