UPDATED: Donations Being Accepted to Assist Families of New Brunswick Boys
The city and the school district have established a fund that will accept donations to help offset funeral costs for the families of Devine Nicholas and Francisco Pereira-Rodas.

UPDATED: The New Brunswick Public School District has announced that a memorial fund has been set up to assist the families of Francisco Pereira-Rodas and Devine Nicholas as they make funeral arrangements for the two boys.
Superintendent Richard Kaplan said the city of New Brunswick and the school district have formed the "Pereira-Rodas and Nicholas Memorial Fund," to benefit the families of the two Lincoln School students.
Donations are being accepted in the form of check or money order and can be mailed to:

According to a report on NJ.com, Crabiel Parkway Funeral Home told a reporter earlier this week that Perera's family intends to hold a private service.

Nicholas's family intended to make their arrangements on Wednesday, the report said.
Pereira-Rodas 10 of Somerset Street and Nicholas, 11, of Mine Street, . They were reported missing by their mothers on Sunday night after they failed to return home from what they reportedly said would be an outing to a nearby park.

Perera-Rodas's body was found on the Highland Park side of the Raritan River around 3 p.m. Monday, below the Albany Street Bridge. Nicholas was discovered in the river approximately two hours later, not far from where Perera-Rodas was located.
According to authorities, the cause of death for both boys was ruled as accidental drowning.
According to the NJ.com report, Crabiel Funeral Home is also accepting donations to assist the Perera family. Donations may be sent to Francisco Perera, care of Crabiel Parkway Funeral Home, 239 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick, NJ 08901.
