Alleged Groping on Rutgers Campus Prompts Crime Alert
A woman reported being groped by an unidentified male Thursday night as she walked on a path on Cook/Douglass campus.

A woman was groped on Cook/Douglass Campus at Rutgers University on Thursday night and police are searching for the suspect, according to a Nixle alert from the Rutgers University Police Department.
According to the alert, the assault reportedly occurred at about 9:50 p.m. Thursday as the unidentified victim was walking on a paved path at the base of the Hickman foot bridge near the Loree Gym.
The victim reported being approached by a Hispanic or light-skinned black male who stood about 5'8 in height, weighing approximately 140-150 pounds, and appearing to be in his late teens or early 20's. The assailant reportedly came up behind her and touched her upper thighs and buttocks and as she pulled away, left in the director of the Loree Gym, according to the alert.
The assailant was described as wearing a black or dark blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white or silver sneakers, according to the alert.
The Rutgers Police Department requests that anyone who was in the area at the time or anyone who may have information about the assault call the department's Investigations Unit at (732) 932-8025 or (732) 932-7211.
