Highland Park Democrats Endorse Brill Mittler for Assembly
Gayle Brill Mittler is a Highland Park resident, council member and business owner.

Editor's note: The following information is a press release from the Highland Park Democratic Committee.
Gayle Brill Mittler, Assembly candidate in New Jersey’s 18th legislative district, has received a unanimous nod from the Highland Park Democratic Committee, calling her the “best qualified candidate to lead our district and our state through these tough economic times.”
The endorsement came as Committee members lauded Brill Mittler’s local record as a two-term member of the Highland Park Borough Council, where she chairs the governing body’s economic development committee.
“I am thrilled to accept the endorsement of my fellow Highland Park Democrats,” Brill Mittler said. “I’ve spent the last several months traveling the 18th district, listening to our citizens’ concerns. I know the challenges our district faces and I know how we can work together to address those challenges. This is why I’m running and why I’m seeking the support of the entire delegation on March 19.”
Bruce Morgan, longtime chairman of the Highland Park Democratic Committee, said Brill Mittler “knows what’s good for our towns and what’s good for the state.”
“Highland Park has been the beneficiary of Gayle’s strong leadership through her work on economic development, education, the environment, and promoting open, transparent government,” Morgan said. “Gayle will fight for the 18th district and will bring to Trenton attainable solutions to modern challenges. She’ll bring a real contrast to the bullying, heavy-handed approach we’ve seen from this governor. Gayle is able to explain the merit and practicality of her position thereby enabling others to consider, and more often than not, agree with her.”
Brill Mittler’s agenda has included lending early, critical support to Sen. Barbara Buono’s gubernatorial bid against Chris Christie.
Brill Mittler’s campaign is focusing on supporting public schools without raising property taxes, promoting a business-friendly environment that supports job creation and local and regional economic growth, holding the line on state college tuition, and supporting senior programs.
“I am intimately aware of the struggles our towns face each budget cycle, and I know how difficult it can be to sustain quality educational opportunities, a healthy economic climate, and programming for youth and seniors,” Brill Mittler said.
“But as I’ve traveled through Edison, East Brunswick, Highland Park, Metuchen, South Plainfield, South River, and Helmetta, I’ve also learned the unique vision of each community in the 18th district. I know how important local communities are to their residents, and together we can protect and promote those communities,” she added. “I look forward to bringing a message of progress and prosperity to the Democratic Party Convention on March 19, and I look forward to working hard for the 18th Assembly District in Trenton.”
Gayle Brill Mittler and her husband, Uri Mittler, reside in Highland Park, where they raised their two children. She is the owner of a marketing business based in Highland Park.
