New Brunswick Community Food Alliance to Host Public Potluck
The event's discussion will center on the 2008 Farm Bill.
The New Brunswick Community Food Alliance will host a public potluck dinner from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 24 at Sacred Heart Church.
The featured speaker for the event is Steve Jany of the New Jersey Farm Bureau. Jany will discuss the Food, Conservation and Energy Act of 2008, also known as the 2008 Farm Bill.
The bill was a five-year plan that expanded on a number of areas in food production, including agriculture subsidies and expansion of the food stamp program. It expired on Sept. 30 and has yet to be reauthorized.
