New Brunswick Man Arrested for Alleged Cocaine Possession
Lenny Hernandez, 26, of New Brunswick, was caught driving backwards Thursday night in the area of Seaman Street and Throop Avenue, and found to be in possession of cocaine and a handgun, police say.

New Brunswick Police arrested a local man Thursday night for alleged possession of cocaine and a firearm after he was caught driving backward.
Cpt. J.T. Miller of New Brunswick Police said Lenny Hernandez of New Brunswick was observed driving a Honda Civic backward in the area of Seaman Street and Throop Avenue.
Upon approaching the car, police observed a loaded handgun "in proximity of the driver," and removed Hernandez from the car, Miller said.

He was also found to be in possession of cocaine, Miller said.
Hernandez, 26, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of cocaine, certain persons not to possess a firearm, unlawful backing, failure to produce a driver's license and driving with a suspended license, Miller said.

He is currently being held at the Middlesex County jail. His bail amount was not known, Miller said.
