New Brunswick Man Held Ex At Knifepoint: Report
Man with restraining order broke into woman's Parsippany apartment in the middle of the night, report says.

PARSIPPANY, N.J. – The arrest of a barricaded man in a Parsippany apartment last week was the result of a scorned ex-boyfriend wielding a knife.
According to dailyrecord.com, Edward Peters, 33, of New Brunswick, broke into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment in the Lakeview Garden complex around 3:30 a.m. Thursday, April 21, and prevented her from leaving the residence by holding her at knifepoint.
A criminal complaint alleged Peters broke into the apartment and took a knife from the kitchen and stationed himself between the woman, another person in the apartment, and the front door, the report said.

As previously reported by Patch, the incident ended around 4 a.m. peacefully with no injuries, and there was no threat to the community as a result of the situation.
Peters was officially charged with violating a restraining order, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, criminal restraint, burglary, and stalking, the report said.
