New Brunswick Shooting Near Park Under Investigation: Police

The victim has provided "limited details" about the incident and the investigation is active and ongoing, police said.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - New Brunswick police are investigating a shooting that took place near Alice Jennings Archibald Park Wednesday night, authorities said.

The New Brunswick Police Department became aware of the shooting incident at around 10:30 p.m. after the victim sought treatment at an area hospital, police said.

The victim, a 28-year-old Edison resident, sustained a gunshot wound to his thighs and was treated for non-life threatening injuries, police said.

An initial investigation suggested the shooting took place near 47 Wright Place, police said.
