No Injuries Reported in Saturday Evening Edpas Road Fire

26 units were evacuated in a fire that burned through two top-floor units.

A fire tore through the top floor of an apartment community building on Edpas Road Saturday night, but did not result in any injuries.

Jason Licinsky of the New Brunswick Fire Department said the fire was first reported around 5:55 p.m. Saturday in Building 8 of the complex and ended up displacing the residents of 26 units in the building.

Two top floor units sustained heavy fire damage, as the flames came through the roof, 10 other units sustained smoke and water damage, and 14 other units had to be evacuated due to electricity and gas being shut off to the entire building, he said.
