One Person Killed in Wednesday Car Crash on Route 18
Police say the car was traveling on Route 18, left the roadway and hit a tree near Paulus Boulevard.

One person was killed Wednesday afternoon when the car they were traveling in on Route 18 left the road and struck a tree, police said.
Around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, a black Acura TL was driving south on Route 18 when it left the road and struck a tree near Paulus Boulevard, according to a press release from the New Brunswick Police Department.
The back seat passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver and front passenger were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries, the release said.

The name and ages of the victims were not immediately available.
Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
