Rutgers University's office of Housing and Residence Life holds the annual event for Piscataway and New Brunswick kids and their families.
It was a graveyard smash on Friday as nearly 1,000 people flocked to the Cook/Douglass Recreation Center at Rutgers University for the annual Monster Mash.
Hosted by the Rutgers Office of Housing and Residence Life, the Monster Mash is a big Halloween event that is open to students from New Brunswick and Piscataway and their families.
Kids came dressed in their Halloween costumes and toting treat bags, which were filled with treats and candy at the tables of dozens of Rutgers University student organizations.

Organizer Alexandra Cupello-Waters said this year's celebration was the ninth year in which it was held. 125 Rutgers students volunteered to help put the event together, which featured games, crafts, treat tables, contests, and music for the kids.
