Rutgers Suspends Lacrosse Coach
Rutgers University announced today that Brian Brecht is suspended while the university investigate sallegations of verbal abuse.

Rutgers University announced today (Friday) that Lacrosse Coach Brian Brecht has been suspended following allegations of verbal abuse.
The university did not say what the allegations entailed, but Rutgers president Robert L. Barchi did release a statement.
“While I cannot comment on an ongoing investigation, let me reiterate that there is no place at Rutgers for words or actions that are inconsistent with the values of the university. Our student athletes, as all members of the Rutgers community, should know that our university is committed to promoting an atmosphere of respect and dignity,“ Barchi said, in a prepared statement. “As I stressed earlier, we will be looking closely at all intercollegiate athletics at Rutgers going forward. If we find problems, we will address them.”

Brecht will be suspended pending an investigation by the Rutgers University Police Department.
The suspensions comes on the heels of the dismissal of Basketball Coach Mike Rice, who left following a suspension and the release of video that showedhim shoving players and yelling at them.
