PISCATAWAY, NJ — Here are photos from the "Roaring 20s Jazz Party" held this past Saturday, Sept. 14 at East Jersey Old Town Village in Piscataway.
The event, free and open to the public to attend, was sponsored by the Arts Institute of Middlesex County, in partnership with the Middlesex County Division of History and Historic Preservation.
It transported visitors back to the Jazz Age and the vibrant energy of the 1920s, featuring performances by Michael Arenella and his Dreamland Orchestra, plus vocalist Risa Branch, who brought the era's iconic jazz sounds and styles to life.

Guests also learned how to dance to ‘20s music, including the Charleston — the defining song and dance of the 1920s created by New Brunswick’s own James P. Johnson — with guidance from The Canarsie Wobblers. The event also featured food, beverages, vintage cars, and more.
