The Arts This Weekend: Paul McCartney & Wings in HD, Plays at Crossroads
Two one-act plays end the Crossroads Theatre's season this weekend, and Paul McCartney & Wings plays on the State Theatre's epic 46 ft. HD screen.
Theatre's are a bit light this weekend, as the spring season ends and the summer entertainment has yet to kick in. Still, there is a NJ Symphony Orchestra concert this weekend and a Paul McCartney/Wings show on HD at the State Theatre. In live theatre, the Crossroads Theatre's production of two one-act plays wraps up this weekend.

ROCKSHOW is a 1980 concert film by Wings, filmed during their 1976 North American tour. It features 30 songs from four concerts of the tour: New York, May 25; Seattle, June 10; Los Angeles, June 22; and Los Angeles, June 23. This was part of the Wings Over the World Tour that also spawned the triple live album Wings Over America.The film also includes an interview with Paul McCartney, exclusive to theatrical screenings.

Marshall Jones, III, the Crossroads Theatre's producing artistic director, presents the world premieres of two one-act plays as its Season Finale: the powerful drama White Lilies, by best-selling novelist Walter Mosley,and the adult comedy The Talk, by France-Luce Benson.

A brilliant new concerto from American composer Steven Mackey is the centerpiece between two symphonic giants. The Prelude from Die Meistersinger presents Wagner at his most regal and grand. Tchaikovsky’s Fifth traces a winding path from tragedy to triumph.
Classical Conversation begins at 2 pm (free to ticketholders). Steven Mackey’s Stumble to Grace is part of the New Jersey Roots Project.
