Basketball Season has Arrived in New Milford

The Knicks and Nets kick off their 2013-14 seasons next week. They’re not the only ballers getting ready for basketball.

It’s sign up time for New Milford Recreation Basketball.

Any and all potential players of all skill levels between second and eighth grade are welcome to sign up for recreation basketball at the New Milford Recreation Building behind Borough Hall on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or on Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Boys and girls welcome.

The cost is only $40 for one child, $60 for two children or $75 for three or more children. A registration form is available here. Checks should be made payable to New Milford Recreation. 

If your child is a seasoned baller and looking for some real competition, tryouts for the New Milford Recreation Travel Basketball teams are coming in early November.

The following times and dates are for tryouts for the boys and girls travel basketball teams.

Boys – Monday, Nov. 4 at Berkeley Street School

• Third and Fourth Grade – 6:30 p.m.
• Fifth Grade – 7 p.m.
• Sixth Grade – 7:30 p.m.
• Seventh Grade – 8 p.m.
• Eight Grade – 8:30 p.m. 

Girls – Wednesday, Nov. 6 at Berkeley Street School

• Third and Fourth Grade – 6:30 p.m.
• Fifth Grade – 7 p.m.
• Sixth Grade – 7:30 p.m.
• Seventh Grade – 8 p.m.
• Eight Grade – 8:30 p.m.
