Berkley Students Give Back in More Ways than One

Berkley Street Elementary School students give back in more ways than one.

Here at Patch we love to report on local people doing positive things. This week we were sent two pieces of news out of Berkley Street Elementary School.

Spirit Club Food Drive:

Under the direction of Spirit Club Advisor and Teacher Brian Gere, Berkley’s Spirit Club held its annual food drive during the week of Nov. 11. Spirit Club members collected food for a local food pantry located in Ascension Church in New Milford. The Berkley community collected over 1,000 items consisting of canned and boxed foods that were donated before Thanksgiving.

Student Gives Back:

Former Berkley student Nick Massimo donated over 25 bags of Lego building toys to the students at Berkley. Thanks to his generous donations, students now have additional materials to create, construct, explore and let their imaginations fly. It is with great appreciation that Principal Patricia Aufiero accepts this donation from Massimo.
