Democrats Take Election In Unofficial Count; Field Of Dreams Defeated
Preliminary counts show Putrino and Ashley take the election, while residents cast a resounding 'no' for the Field of Dreams.

In an unofficial count, Democratic incumbent Austin Ashley and his running mate, Michael Putrino have won the two open seats on the council, unseating Council President Howard Berner.
Putrino, who served a previous term as councilman, came in with the most votes at 3,161, followed by Ashley who garnered 2,956. Berner received 2,583 votes, while his running mate Peter Rebsch received 2,584.
Perhaps the most resounding loss of the night was the defeat of the 'Field of Dreams' referendum. 2,858 votes were cast against it, while only 1,669 were cast in support of it.

However, the open space question did pass with 2,757 votes in favor and 1,840 votes against.
In the Board of Education election, unofficial results for the three three-term spots have incumbent Joseph Steele leading the pack with 1,427 votes, followed by Laura O'Grady with 1,414 votes, Darren Drake with 997 votes and James Prendergast with 878 votes. Christopher Ryan ran uncontested for a one-year term.
