Garrett Hosts U.S. Service Academy Information Night for District 5 High School Students
Learn what it takes to be accepted to West Point, the Naval Academy, the Merchant Marine Academy and the Air Force Academy.

Representative Scott Garrett (R) is hosting an information session for all District 5 high school students interested in attending one of the United States Service Academies.
The 2012 Academy Night Information Session for Bergen and Passaic County students will be held at Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale on May 2 at 7p.m.
“My staff is looking forward to kicking off the 2012 Academy nomination process by providing valuable information to prospective nominees from across the 5th District,” Garrett said in a release.

“My esteemed Academy Advisory Board and I are looking forward to reviewing applications from some of New Jersey’s best and brightest students this fall,” he said.
To be considered for acceptance to the United States Military Academy at West Point, the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, the Merchant Marine Academy at King’s Point and the United States Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, a student must be nominated by their congressional representative.

Garrett also encourages parents, teachers, school administrators and guidance counselors to attend the information session.
