How Much Do Your Volunteer Firefighters Mean to You?
Show your appreciation for a century of service by donating to Fire Company 2's annual fund drive.

97 years of leaving wives and children stranded at the dinner table. 97 years of jumping out of bed in the bitter cold, the blazing heat. 97 years of missed holidays, birthdays and anniversaries. 97 years of no salary and health benefits.
Almost a century of service has to be worth something, right?
Many of you have received a letter from the volunteer firefighters of requesting a donation to their annual fund drive. They are reaching out to you, the residents of New Milford, who they have faithfully served for nearly a century.

The money collected goes toward the operation of the fire company--funding drills, equipment, programs, feeding the company when their services are required for extended periods of time during emergencies such as Hurricane Irene or the October snowstorm, events such as New Milford Night Out, the annual children's Christmas party and donations to "Toys for Tots."
According to former Chief Bob Ryan, every year Company 2 sends out approximately 6700 letters to residents. Only 1000 come back with donations. A reminder letter will be coming to your mailbox soon. If you have already donated, the firefighters want to thank you. If you have not, this is your chance to show your appreciation to these selfless volunteers.
