New Milford Kindergarten Registration

Registration for kindergarten for the 2012-2013 school year begins on Tuesday, January 17, and runs through Monday, January 30. New Milford parents who would like to register their children for kindergarten are asked to call the school to request a registration packet and set up an appointment date.

Here is how to determine which elementary school your child is eligible to attend: Residents who live on or south of Monmouth and River Edge Avenues should call Berkley Street Elementary School at 201-262-0191. Families who live north of Monmouth and River Edge Avenues should contact B. F. Gibbs Elementary School at 201-261-0939. 

Once the initial phone call is made, the school will mail the registration packets to parents. The forms in the packet should be filled out and brought with you on the day of your registration appointment. (Please do not mail the material back to the school.)

Children must be 5 years old by October 1, 2012, in order to be eligible to register. A birth certificate and immunization records, as well as proof of residency (apartment lease/property deed and two current utility bills, each from a different utility), are required. Bring these items, along with the registration packet, to the school for your scheduled appointment. Registration cannot take place without these papers.

School will be closed on Monday, January 16, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. No appointments will be scheduled for that date. If you have any questions please feel free to contact the appropriate school.
