New Milford/Teaneck Elks Lodge Host 41st National “HOOP SHOOT” Competition
The Elks are hosting their annual national free-throw shooting contest for children ages 8 through 13

The New Milford/Teaneck Elks Lodge will be hosting the 41st Annual Elks “Hoop Shoot” competition for children ages 8 through 13 on Saturday, Dec. 22 at 9 am at David E. Owens Middle School.
Over Three million children from throughout the country entered last year’s national free-throw shooting competition for boys and girls in the age categories 8-9; 10-11; and 12-13. (Contestants must provide proof of age such as birth certificate or U.S. Passport.)
Boys and Girls ages 8-9 will shoot at 9 am; 10-11 year olds at 10 am; and 12-13 year olds at 11 am. Contestants should arrive a half hour prior to their age group for registration.

Each contestant has 25 shots at the hoop. The boy and girl in each age group with the best scores will advance through four tiers of competition to qualify for the national finals.
Information regarding District and State competition will be available at the event. There is NO COST for contestants. Contestants’ age groups are determined by their age as of April 1, 2013.
