The New Milford Planning Board held its reorganization meeting Tuesday night and gave the oath of office to two of the three newly appointed members.
Former Councilwoman Celeste Scavetta was sworn in to a one-year term along with alternate Stan Newman, who was sworn in to a two-year term. Newly appointed alternate John DaCosta, who will serve a one-year term, had previously advised the board that due to prior commitments he would be unable to attend the reorganization meeting. He will be sworn in at the next meeting of the Planning Board.
Angelo DeCarlo was unanimously voted in as Chairman and Carol Hudak was unanimously voted in as Vice-Chairwoman.

Upon reviewing the RFQ's (request for qualification/quotation), the Board chose an engineer, planner and attorney. An RFQ is part of a municipality's standard procedure used to invite suppliers into a bidding process to bid on specific services, such as legal or engineering.
Margita Batistic, an engineer with Boswell Engineering, was unanimously reappointed as the Board engineer.

Burgis Associates, recently voted by the Mayor and Council to replace Dennis Kirwan of DK Planning as Borough Planner, was appointed as the planner for the Planning Board.
Richard J. Abrahamsen, a partner in the Englewood Cliffs law firm Sekas & Abrahamsen, was unanimously voted in as Planning Board attorney, replacing Arthur Neiss who voluntarily stepped down at the end of last year.
The Planning Board will be meeting in a work session on Tuesday, Jan. 24th at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Borough Hall. During this work session the will be heard for completeness review.
The next public session of the Planning Board will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 21st at 7:30pm in the council chambers of Borough Hall.
