The residents of the Brookchester apartment complex were invited to an outdoor celebration where there was plenty of food, Thursday.
Doreen Ercolano, Business Manager of Brookchester, said that Brookchester Day is a way for neighbors to come out, enjoy some food and get to know the community of people in the apartment complex, adding that it's also a way to do something positive to foster the spirit of community.
This year's event drew approximately 200 residents, Ercolano said.
A group of residents agreed that it takes something like this to bring them out from their apartments to get to know each other.
"We come and go all day long and never really take the time to stop and talk to our neighbors," one resident said. "Something like this makes us feel more connected to each other."
