Six Arrested in Bergen County Drug Bust

Police arrested a Dumont man, his four alleged customers, and another man who was in possession of marijuana during the search warrant.

Six men, including two from Passaic County, were arrested on Thursday following a Bergen County drug bust.

An investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force and the Dumont Police Department revealed that Emil Fiore, also known as Rocky, 62, of Dumont, was allegedly distributing narcotics, specifically marijuana, to various individuals from his residence, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.

Authorities arrested Fiore at his home after executing a search warrant on his residence and seizing approximately two pounds of marijuana worth $6,000, drug paraphernalia, including scales and packaging materials, and $4,045 in United States Currency, Molinelli said. Omar Rodriguez, 35, of Clifton, was also arrested in Fiore’s home after police found him to be in possession of suspected marijuana during the search warrant.

Four more were also arrested after police conducting surveillance on Fiore’s home observed them purchasing suspected controlled substances from Fiore. David Capuano, 41, of Dover, was arrested along with George Hanlon, 63, of Teaneck, Carmen Cosentino, 62, of West Paterson, and Bruce Garamone, 59, of Mahwah, for possession of marijuana.

Fiore was charged with five counts of distribution of marijuana, five counts of distribution of marijuana within 1000 feet of Dumont High School and one count of possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, Molinelli said. Bail was set at $25,000 with a ten percent cash option. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.

Rodriguez was charged with one count of possession of marijuana (less than 50 grams) and was released on a summons with a pending first appearance court date on Jan. 20.

Hanlon and Cosentino were each charged with one count of possession of marijuana (less than 50 grams) and were released on summons with a pending first appearance court date on Jan. 26.

Garamone was charged with one count of possession of marijuana (over 50 grams) and was released on his own recognizance with a pending first appearance court date on Jan. 26.

Capuano was charged with one count of possession of marijuana (less than 50 grams) and possession of a prohibited weapon, specifically, a set of brass knuckles. He was released on his own recognizance with a pending first appearance court date on Jan. 26.
