Zoning Board Meeting Tops The Week Ahead

A look at what's going on this week in New Milford

The New Milford Chamber of Commerce will be hosting "Business After Hours" at the New Milford Swim Club Monday from 6 pm to 8 pm. 

"Business After Hours" is a monthly event designed to provide a relaxed, informal get-together of Chamber business members after regular business hours. In addition to meeting and sharing Ideas with prospective clients, members, and customers, this event offers a great opportunity for making new contacts and showcasing products and services.

The Zoning Board of Adjustment is holding its regular meeting Tuesday in the Council Chambers of The work session begins at 7:30pm, followed by the public meeting at 8pm. On the agenda is 111 Henley Avenue into a house of worship. They are seeking variances for side and rear yard buffer, as well as parking.

is also returning seeking approvals for a parking lot and restaurant expansion. Sanzari's is seeking variances for use, impervious lot coverage, front and side yard setback, parking, signs and additional seating.

New Milford Redevelopment Associates, a company headed by Peter Hekemian, V.P. of Development for the S. Hekemian Group, is seeking . 

The application includes:

  • 70,500 sq ft supermarket 
  • 221 residential units with 428-spaced parking garage 
  • 88 one bedroom apartments; 117 two bedroom apartments; 16 three bedroom apartments
  • 4300 sq ft bank 

At the conclusion of the , the public was questioning Hekemian's expert engineer Michael Dipple. As of this time, it is uncertain who Hekemian will have testify at the zoning board meeting.
