450 Symphony Students to Perform Sunday
The New Jersey Youth Symphony will perform the Annual Playathon at the Mills at Jersey Gardens in Elizabeth.

Elizabeth, NJ -- The New Jersey Youth Symphony will perform the Annual Playathon at the Mills at Jersey Gardens in Elizabeth.
Performances by students of the Performing Arts School and Paterson Music Project lead up to the heart of the event, when more than 450 members of the New Jersey Youth Symphony perform as one orchestra at the mall’s Center Court.
The event will be held on Sunday, April 3 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. It is free and open to the public. The mall is located at 651 Kapkowski Rd. in Elizabeth.

From 1:00-2:30 p.m. on three different stages, performances include an Early Childhood Music demonstration for children ages 3-7, selections from Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella presented by students of the Musical Theatre Arts department, a jazz jam with the New Jersey Youth Symphony Jazz Workshop, Prokofiev’s iconic Peter and the Wolf performed by the New Jersey Youth Symphony Woodwind Quintet, and performances by the Paterson Music Project and the New Jersey Youth Symphony’s Flute and Clarinet Ensembles.
The entire New Jersey Youth Symphony, including more than 450 students in grades 3-12 from all 14 ensembles in the NJYS family of ensembles, takes the stage at Center Court at 3 p.m. NJYS will perform popular favorites including the Theme from Superman, Procession of the Sardar from The Empire Strikes Back and selections from The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean.
