600 Pieces of Artwork Displayed at Salt Brook School

The school held its first-ever art show.

On April 14, the halls of Salt Brook Elementary School were transformed into an art gallery when the school presented its first-ever all-school art show.

Working with art teacher Michelle Hoogerhyde, each student had the opportunity to choose a favorite piece of art they completed during the school year, amounting to well over 600 pieces of art displayed on the hallway walls.  Also on display were sixth grade reproductions that were done in groups.

Excitement and pride filled the school as students searched the walls for their art and shared their work with family and friends.  Evident were the countless hours spent creating the art and the equal amount of time spent selecting, mounting and hanging the work.

Sponsored by the Salt Brook PTA, the art show was a wonderful way to support the children's creativity.

“I am very happy to be part of the New Providence school district and so proud of all our students for the effort and enthusiasm they showed for this year's art show,” says Mrs. Hoogerhyde. “I look forward to many more.”
