Arrangements Set For New Providence Woman Killed In Train Crash

​Susan Dorothy Brown, 61, of New Providence was a lover of pets, cooking and baking.

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ — Funeral arrangements have been set for Susan Brown, 61, of New Providence who died in a serious crash with a NJ Transit train in the borough on Thursday night.

Brown was described as a gifted baker and cook. Having attended culinary classes, she enjoyed cooking for her loving family. She also loved listening to music and spending time with her adored dogs: Gizmo and Cody, her obituary stated.

Susan was born in Elizabeth and grew up in Summit. She was a graduate of Summit High School and was a resident of New Providence for more than 20 years. She was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant and previously as a Home Health Aide.

Susan is survived by her loving parents Edward Partilla Sr., and Ida Ruck (Howard Austin), her siblings: Edward Partilla Jr., and Victoria Partilla.

She is also survived by her niece Marilyn Madigan (Tom) and her great niece Leah Madigan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Monday, Nov. 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial, 7 Summit Ave., Summit. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 20 gathering will begin at 10 a.m. the service will start at 10:45 a.m., burial will be held at St. Teresa’s Cemetery, Summit.
