Bailey Is New Providence's Pet Of The Week

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ — Meet Bailey! She has been chosen as New Providence Patch's Pet Of The Week.

"Meet Bailey. A 110-pound Bernese Mountain Dog that’s full of love. Acting most days as the unofficial mascot of Allen W. Roberts elementary school, this friendly dog of ours waits just off school property to welcome the kids home from school. It’s one of the highlights of her day.

Bailey is 3 years old, incredibly sweet with children, loves to be near her family and prefers cold snow over hot sand. She likes playing catch and taking long naps. She has a calm demeanor and truly lives up to her reputation as a gentle giant."

Participating in the Pet of the Week happenings is simple: submit your nomination by emailing alexis.tarrazi@patch.com with subject line "New Providence-Berkeley Heights Pet Of The Week." Be sure to include a photograph or two of your pet, a paragraph about what makes him or her so great, and the town you're from.

You can choose to include your name, but you don't need to. Then just keep an eye out for a photo of your pet on the Patch!

The photo can be of a present pet, or it can be a baby picture of the adult pet you're so proud of today. All photos must be property of the submitter.
