The VFW Post 6259 of Berkeley Heights invites the community to the second annual Berkeley Heights Town Barbecue on Saturday. <a href="http://thealternativepress.com/articles/vfw-berkeley-heights-town-bar-b-que" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">The cookout will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. </a>at 15 Locust Ave., Berkeley Heights, with a rain date of Sunday, according to the Alternative Press. The highlight will be a pig roast, but organizers also will offer serving hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, bratwurst, corn on the cob, mixed salad, cole slaw, baked beans, potato salad, watermelon, soda, water and beer.  Activities include music, a dunk tank, a horseshoe tournament and more. Proceeds will go toward the "Buddy Poppy" fund, which aids ailing veterans. Admission is $25 for adults, $10 for kids ages 8-14 and children younger than 8 are free.
