Domestic Violence Survivors to 'Bare Soles' at Berkeley Heights Library

Woman's Club hosting glove and mitten collection drive in October.

The Woman’s Club of Berkeley Heights will acknowledge Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October with an exhibit at the Berkeley Heights Public Library.

The library will host “Baring Our Soles,” in which domestic violence survivors use a shoe, sneaker or boot to create art that tell stories about their experiences, according to the Independent Press.

The Woman’s Club of Berkeley Heights supports the Project Protect program at the YWCA of Eastern Union County, which provides various services to women in crisis. The hotline number is 909-355-HELP [4357].

In October, the Woman’s Club will host a collection for gloves and mittens, which can be dropped off at the library, 290 Plainfield Ave.
