Favorite Hair Salon Poll Winners: Feathers and Sublime

Readers have spoken and the results are in.

in New Providence was voted favorite hair salon, receiving 31 percent of the vote. In Berkeley Heights, Sublime Salon and Day Spa was voted the favorite, receiving 37 percent of all votes.

Sublime, located at 206 Sherman Ave. in Berkeley Heights, offers body services, waxing and massage therapies as well as a variety of hair services, color and perms.

The salon has a "holistic approach to beauty and your health," according to its web site, and specializes in updo's and make-up applications for wedding.

Feathers, which opened in 1974, was originally on South Street but is now located on Springfield Avenue in the heart of downtown New Providence. The full-service salon, with 22 stylists, offers haircuts, perms, color, curl-outs, blow-outs, manicures, pedicures and Keratin treatments.

One Yelp! reviewer, who gave Feathers four out of five stars in January, said "I moved to New Providence over the summer and was in search of a good hair dresser. I have actually been to Feathers three times - the first two times were just alright, but I finally found someone that I would go back to on my third try! Her name is Christy and she is fantastic! She listened to what I wanted (I went in for highlights) and offered some great suggestions for me and how I can change things up next time. The only reason why I am not giving five stars is because they do not take any sort of credit card - cash or check only."
