Former New Providence Resident, 9/11 Clean Up Volunteer, Dies At 69

Fusco died July 14.

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ — Donald Fusco, 69, of Hillsborough died peacefully July 14.

Fusco was born Aug. 28, 1947 to the late Nicholas and Helen Fusco and raised in New Providence.

Donald had his own floor sanding business for many years and later was employed by Tilcon Quarry in Millington. Before retiring, he was one of the volunteer crew from Tilcon who who worked endlessly at the World Trade Center for the first 36 hours following the 9/11 attack.

Donald will always be remembered by his family and friends as kind with a heart of gold, quiet, yet funny with a smile that would light up a room.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Karen (Nee Baughman) fusco; three children Darlene, Michael and Nicole and her husband Mike and three grandchildren Syren, Troy and Mykalo. Donald is also the baby brother of Joseph, Charles, John, Mary Mansilla, Rebecca Fusco, Dorothy Amodeo, Pearl Fusco and the late Nicholas Jr., Thomas and Patrick Fusco, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Father, brother, uncle and friend — loved by all.
